Stateful mocks and vendor test modes
A stateful mock for business systems gives a test control over its starting records and the changes that follow. Vendor test modes and sandboxes vary: some retain state, provide isolation or support test clocks. The useful question is whether the environment can reproduce the workflow and failures your agent needs to handle.
State and repeatability
An isolated world starts from saved inputs. After the agent acts, the test can inspect what changed and what stayed protected. Reusing the same starting data avoids depending on leftovers from a previous run. The same world inputs and request sequence reproduce deterministically; model behavior itself can still vary.
Know what has been checked
Worlds includes Stripe and native Zendesk in its public beta. The implemented Stripe subset is verified against real Stripe through the dated probe record. Native Zendesk has local conformance coverage; its live API qualification remains pending. Supported combined workflows retain these separate qualifications.
An API-shaped response is not enough to establish correctness. Check the supported operations, lifecycle rules, intentional differences and ungraded cases. The scope reference and beta limitations describe those boundaries.
A useful first test
Choose a workflow your agent can run locally, provide reviewed starting records, and write the allowed outcome before running it. Check the full state change, including records the agent was meant to leave alone. Add a failure condition that the implemented environment supports, then compare the results.
